A charm is basically a gemstone, talisman, amulet, bracelet or any other object which is charged with enchanting powers for certain purpose. People around the world believe in this concept of magic and powers. Generally people believe that the powers of nature, god or even satanic powers can be stored in certain objects. Mostly these powers are used for betterment of one’s life. Such charms are known as Lucky Charms. There are different beliefs, concepts and objects that are converted into lucky charms. Every religion, country or any part of world has its own rules and concepts for lucky charms. What ever may be the religion, the lucky charms are believed to bring goodwill in life.

The concept of lucky charms is not new. This tradition is followed from the time when the humankind originated. Initially human was really miniscule in front of the mesmerizing powers of nature. The earlier human used to worship these powers. These charismatic powers were the fire, water, storms, sun, rain, rainbows and even volcanic irruptions. Earlier these powers were the Gods for human being. Later, according to human nature, the man wanted to take control of these powers. He thought if these powers are acquired or taken control over, it can change the life, as these powers rule Mother Earth. This way the birth of charms took place. Man searched for the objects which can hold these powers inside them. If he succeeds in this, he can rule his life.

Certain objects proved to be lucky for the man who wears them. Luck, in human concept is the factor which brings wealth, prosperity, health and opportunities to his life. These lucky objects can be anything from gemstone, wooden objects or even leaves. In many western countries a clover with four leaves is considered to be a lucky charm for its finders. It is believed so, may be because it is a rare thing to obtain. However, there are many lucky charm objects which are easily available. Gemstones are considered as the most important lucky charms. These gemstones or simple stones are worn on body through the form of bracelets, pendants or rings. The gemstones are chosen on the basis of birth date, birth place, birth time and other such factors. These stones can be Diamonds, Ruby, Safire, Pearl or semiprecious stones. Men and women can get their own lucky charm cast in gold, silver or platinum. The men who endow these charms with powers are known as the charmers. Charmers tell people which gem to wear, when to wear and in which form to wear.

Other lucky charm objects comprise of statues, drawings, plants, coins and animals. In eastern culture statues such as Buddha statue are considered as lucky charm. The Chinese Feng Shui believes that the smiling statue kept in house bring happiness. Similarly certain drawing decorated in house can change the bad luck to good luck. This concept can be found in Egyptian culture. Certain plants bring wealth and prosperity to the holder’s life. Coins belonging to ancient era are believed to be holders of magical powers. It is believed that wealth is attracted to these coins. Therefore, many people store certain coins in their cupboards.

The use of lucky charms is increasing in all corners of the world. This is the because of the increasing spirituality in people. The lucky charms are proving lucky for many people for sure.
